If you feel you are loosing your balance in a yoga pose, reach higher – it will steady you. This will help you not only in your practice, but everywhere in your life!
Just finished this Ganesha stencil for a friend. I made it in Illustrator but it’s not an original design; I found the picture somewhere in Google and used it as a sample. All in all, it’s quite cute and I’m happy to share it – so if you would like to have it just comment about it below and I will send it to you! It can be used as a stencil, or it can be printed on a T-shirt for example. The possibilities are endless.
Today I was so blessed to be present at a lecture that took place at the yoga center I am practicing. Our dearest Swamiji, in her own – very special way – left us thinking about what happiness is for every individual and the yogic approach to being happy. She also gave us homework, but if you have met her, you know that this is not surprising!
The word “Yoga” comes from the Sanskrit word “Yuj” which means union. In practice, yoga is a step-by-step build-up of techniques that develop and transform the personality. For the practitioner, yoga develops health and vitality. It provides one with the strength to handle the everyday challenges of life while enhancing harmony and balance within one’s inner world and external environment. It develops wellbeing by removing stress, tension and anxiety, on the physical, mental and emotional levels. As one deepens their practice, one starts to awaken the dormant potential within, which culminates in the final aim and purpose of yoga, union with one’s true Self, otherwise known as liberation, transcendence, samadhi, nirvana or mukti.
