Mostly veg cooking but actually a little bit of everything

Food for Thought

“You cannot change the world unless you change yourself; you cannot make the world less violent unless you become less violent first. And as long as you eat, wear, or use products made from nonhuman animals, violence will be a part of who you are.”

crochet-heart-shaped-rug-pattern-1I am not a heart person, but when I saw this pattern I could not resist. I wanted to send a small (handmade) present to a friend and this seemed appropriate since it was easy to mail and she is the sweetest person alive.

Ithaca” by C. P. Cavafy

As you set out for Ithaca
hope the voyage is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
Laistrygonians and Cyclops,
angry Poseidon—don’t be afraid of them:

Laistrygonians and Cyclops,

unless you bring them along inside your soul,
unless your soul sets them up in front of you.
